At Urbanización Milagro Verde, Casa 21, in Minca (Santa Marta, Magdalena), just outside the village in the Sierra Nevada foothills, beside the river.
How do I get here from Minca village?
We’re about a 10–15 minute walk from the village (roughly 1 km, depending on the route). Take the road next to Café Minca and follow the signs in the trees.
If you’re arriving with heavy bags or after dark, message us on WhatsApp first and we’ll point you to the best path or a moto-taxi.
Is it adults-only?
Yes. Costeño River is adults-only.
If you’re travelling with anyone under 18 or have a specific question, message us before booking.
Do you have private rooms?
Yes. We have private rooms for two (Montaña, Cielo, Río, Mirador, Sierra, Cumbre and, on some dates, Costeño), one for up to three (Selva) and one for up to four (Piedra).
Do you have shared dorms?
Yes, three: a 4-bed mixed dorm, a 4-bed women’s dorm and an 8-bed mixed dorm. All are booked per bed.
For the 4-bed mixed dorm, online booking allows up to 3 beds per booking. If you’re four, message us and we’ll sort it out.
Do the rooms have a private bathroom?
All our private rooms have their own bathroom. In the dorms, the bathroom is inside the room and shared by the people sleeping there.
The sky-view bathroom is the one in the Montaña room we showed on Instagram in June 2026. If that’s what you’re after, tell us when you book and we’ll confirm the unit.
Do all rooms have air conditioning?
It depends on the category. Montaña, Cielo and Piedra have air conditioning, as do all three dorms (mixed 4, women’s 4 and mixed 8).
We don’t list it for Río, Mirador, Sierra, Cumbre, Selva or Costeño. If it’s a must for you, tell us when you book and we’ll confirm.
Is breakfast included?
Yes. On our standard rate, breakfast is included in every category.
If you book through another platform or rate, check what it includes.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Hostelworld lists check-in from 14:00 to 21:00 and check-out before 11:00. Please confirm when booking, especially if you’re arriving late.
Is there Wi-Fi?
Yes, free Wi-Fi. You’re in the mountains and the signal can vary; if you need video calls for work, message us and we’ll tell you how the connection is doing.
Can I get to the river?
Yes, the river runs right alongside the property, with direct access.
The flow changes with the rain. Ask us about conditions before swimming, especially after a downpour, and mind the rocks.
Are the pool or jacuzzi heated?
Can I book a massage?
Yes, at Agua de Río, our massage cabana. Message us on WhatsApp and we’ll tell you what’s available, times and rates for your dates.
Do you offer yoga, salsa or evening activities?
Do you organise tours to waterfalls or farms?
We don’t publish a tour catalogue, prices or fixed departures. Message us with your dates and what you’re into, and we’ll tell you what options there are at the time.
Pozo Azul, Marinka, Los Pinos and the coffee farms are independent places you can visit on your own.
Can I book direct?
Yes. Our booking engine shows categories and availability by date. You can also message us on WhatsApp.

How does cancellation work?
It depends on where and at which rate you book. On our standard rate, cancelling 20 days or less before arrival means 100% is charged; before that, there’s no charge. That plan’s deposit is non-refundable, and we accept date changes requested at least 10 days ahead.

Is there a restaurant or bar?
Yes, we have a restaurant and a bar. For the menu and hours, ask us when you arrive or on WhatsApp.
What should I pack?
Comfortable walking shoes, insect repellent, quick-dry clothes, swimwear and a warm layer for the evening.
If you’re in a dorm, a padlock, earplugs and an eye mask help.
Is it right for me if I’m looking to party?
We’re social and relaxed, with activities on some nights and people up for a chat. But we’re not an all-night party hostel: people come here for peace and quiet.
Is there a women-only dorm?
Yes, the 4-bed women’s dorm, with a bathroom inside the room and air conditioning. Booked per bed.
Do prices include tax?
Our standard rate excludes 19% VAT (IVA), which applies to Colombian tax residents and is charged at check-in. If you’re unsure whether it applies to you, message us.
